Sunflower

Yeah, I figured out how to put Buster and Bianca's picture on my heading and a sunflower for my profile. I love sunflowers. Sunflowers brighten my day.

A small sample of my quilts

Yes, after two days of trying to get a slideshow of my quilts, I was successful. I'll be loading more as I get a chance to take more photos.

One quilt I would like to tell you about is the "Alex Andersons Coming Home." It is the one with the houses, stars and leaves. My friend Linda and I took the class at Alden Lane "Quilting In The Garden" in 2006. We promptly did one block of each block and then put it away.

January 2008 we decided to challenge ourselves by going over to each others house to cut out the stars one month and so on. By month five, we had the blocks finished and put the quilt together. We each put our house number on one of the houses. It is amazing how different each quilt is because of the fabric choices we chose.

This year at "Quilting In The Garden" I am going to have it displayed hanging from the trees. I can't wait to see it.

Hot Days of Summer

I usually don't mind the heat, but when you have 7 days of 95 degrees plus, it makes you cranky. Somedays, I don't have the energy to quilt and that is sad. I have to walk Buster and Bianca at 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Plus, I have to put them in the sink and run cold water over them. With their smashed pug nose, they have a hard time cooling off in the heat.

I am trying to get the hang of blogging and will have more pictures soon. Until then, have a "cool weekend." Rhonda
