No photos

Well, I'm back from a long hiatus. Life has been very hectic and little time left for everything. Ruben has had lots of tests and doctors appointment. The angioplasty showed no signs of heart blockage. Yeah! Now we are waiting for him to get a fistula in his left wrist. This is the better place to start dialysis. We have to wait 6 months for healing. I used to take life for granted. Then it was every 6 weeks, then one month, and down to one week.

I'll write more show pictures of my quilts. pug and kisses

off to retreat

I'm ready to go to my first retreat being sponsored by my local quilt shop, In Between Stitches. I have packed very little, but it still is a lot to drag around. We are staying in cabins, so we have to bring our own bedding.

I promise to write more very soon. Pugs and kisses.

Pinwheel Party

Here are my four blocks. Aren't they cute! I have #5 sitting on my cutting table. I'm afraid I won't get too much sewing done this week.

Ruben is still in the hospital and hopefully he can come home today. We had some sobering and scary news. We don't know what to expect in the future, but we will live and love every day.

So off I go. Pugs and kisses.

Hospitalization

Ruben is in the hospital, the first of many I'm afraid. We've know his kidneys are compromised by his diabetes and high blood pressure. He was very swollen and HE asked to go to the doctor. 1:30 he saw his physician; we waited for two hours for the ambulance. I went to Kaiser Hayward and found him in the ER. Doctors, blood draw, chest X-ray, and endless questions. He had a catheter put in to rule out prostrate enlargement.

Finally to the room around 9:30 and I got home at midnight. Back to the hospital today. I don't even want to think about the work piling up with our new data base system.

So no time for quilts. Pugs and kisses

Pinwheel Party

Here is my second block for the pinwheel party. Number three is sitting on my cutting table to get done. I've been so busy with work, that I haven't done much sewing. I hope to quilt all week. Pugs and kisses.

Graduation and Pinwheel Party

Angela received her LVN pin and now waiting to take her boards. She is already working on her RN degree. We are so proud of her.

Here is my first block for Pinwheel party I joined on Twiddletales. The best part was I had all the fabric in my stash. I can't wait for this week's block.

The whole family was sick with pneumonia, ear infections, and other stuff. We are all on the mend now. Pugs and kisses.

A friend's Christmas gift.

Here is another Thimbleberries quilt that my friend Renee received. Last year it seems like I was doing nothing except Thimbleberries patterns. This is her 2 birthdays and 1 Christmas present.

Since making so many flying geese and square in a square, I had enough left over to make pinwheels. Yes, pinwheels, my favorite block. I even made a pinwheel table topper out of the left overs from my niece, Tanya's Thimbleberries quilt and my niece, Jacqueline's Thimbleberries quilt. No wonder I am putting off sewing the rows together on the Thimblerries Block of the month.

No more pinwheels or Thimbleberries for a while. It has taken me 8 months to get over my purple aversion. Pugs and kisses.

Baby Quilts II

I made two of the same quilts for Angela's friend and a lady at work. They were so simple and so cute. Pugs & Kisses

Baby Quilts

Here are two of my baby quilts I have made. The orange football one will be going to community quilts at the guild. It is my least favorite. The green baseball one, I'm not sure yet. It is really cute with the baseball bats and gloves quilted all over.

I have been working a lot of over time because of the new data base system that we got at work. I don't like OT, but the work has got to be done. Stay tuned for part II. Pugs & Kisses

A good weekend

I spent yesterday and today getting binding ready and sewing it on for three quilts. Yeah! I have two more to do, but I ran out of steam.

I made a table runner at my Friday Friendship Group at In Between Stitches. Minnesota Hot Dish by Atkinson Designs. I used left over fabric from American Jane. I started quilting it and now have to get dinner ready.

I'd like to show you my Victory Quilt using Eleanor Burns' book. We completed two blocks per month at IBS at Kool Ladies. Now, I have an issue with Eleanor's directions, at least I didn't sit in the back cussing this time like I did with Egg Money. I could do a whole quilt just with a few of the blocks.

Got to go. I'm still going to do my blog, but I am learning Facebook. Pugs and kisses.

FaceBook

I have joined the world on face book. I find it to be more user friendly than the blog. Come and visit me. Pugs and Kisses.

Scrap Quilt

This is one of the scrap quilts that I made last year. Usually I give two away at Christmas to the "Adopt A Family." But this one I couldn't part with.
In the middle is an appliqued tree that I rescued from my friends garbage can. I loved the way the whole quilt turned out.

It is raining really hard and I have to go to work. I know we need the rain and the coastal cities have had the wind gusts, but it is still miserable out right now.

Better get ready to leave. Pugs and Kisses

New Computer and New Year

I'm finally ready to start blogging again. It has been a whirlwind of events and emotions in December. Christmas and New Year were very quiet and that suited me.

At work has been busy; not physical, but emotional. We are gearing up to going live with our new data base system. It has been meeting after meeting. I've been asking for one for 15 years and now it will be real on 1/25/10.

Breakfast is calling. Pugs and Kisses
